AtmosFEAR! Street Theatre at The NEC
AtmosFEAR! street theatre created a creepy collection of characters for Europe’s only scare entertainment convention, ScareCON, at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham at the beginning of May 2009.
Following a brief from ScareCON, two interactive double acts incorporating new and existing characters were produced to mix and mingle with convention delegates and provide some humorous horror and interactive activity.
First up were Bitter & Twisted a camp and quirky pair of zombified Victorian stately staff. Beatrice Bitter, a Victorian Housekeeper with a penchant for wealthy lovers and the finest tea blends, together with Tabitha Twisted the mouldy Tea Maid, set about mingling with ScareCON guests, stopping occasionally for tea, and trying to find new employment with a wealthy businessman!
Later in the day, Hopkins the sinister Witch Hunter was let loose in the sales room, looking for signs of witchcraft he examined everyone in sight, before finally catching up with Mad Mab the creepy crone who had been nibbling spiders as she crept about the NEC, hoping Hopkins would not spot her! |
